I like to thank the Jim and Di for the great forum software, hosting and service. One thing I’m impressed with is a ton less spam. I use to use WowBB hosting and I use to get around 300 spam emails a day, now I only get a few day. Another thing I’m impressed with is when I had WowBB hosting, several times a day I would have posts that wouldn’t go through. I would try and make a post and it would go to a blank screen and eventually time out. Then I would have to start all over to make a post. Now all my posts go though. I also had Jim install his Cbox mod. It’s hidden to guests and forum members are automatically logged into it. It’s a nice little addition to the forum. Anyone is free to register to check it out. http://www.hyperspacecafe.com/ Peace

I can't help wondering that if Jim is successful with my phpbb conversion and word gets round then he might be inundated with applications for the software, will he be able to keep up this standard of service? I certainly hope so because to my mind he is an integral part of the wowultra package. Perhaps the phpbb conversion is a pandora's box and the lid should be kept on.

Well that's a good point Robert and one that's crossed my mind more than once. The guy who ran the old place we were on used to be very good at supporting us in the early days. Then it just went bad, ie no replies to support questions and other issues. Jim was a member there as well and I suspect that he will have learned by the experience. I have every confidence that Jim will be able to adapt to the changes as time goes on.

Well if the phpbb conversion is a success, and I'm desperately hoping that it is, then I'm glad I'm in on the ground floor before the deluge starts.

I'm also supplying a software product and supporting my users. I've been doing that for nearly 10 years now. There's no doubt that as the number of users increases, so the level of support you can offer each one must decrease. Otherwise it will consume your entire life and leave no time for further development work. The answer is in this forum. Currently it has only 162 members. Hopefully Jim will be doing everything in his power to get all his new customers to join here. That way users can help each other and take some of the load off Jim and Di. It's in a user's own interest to do that, otherwise there won't be any new upgrades because Jim won't have time to do them. It's also important that new users understand this, and remember to ask here first, before using the private support system or email. It can be hard work getting this point across to a new user who has just paid for the product. regards, Martin.

Couldn't agree more Martin. Help pages are also a good idea because I think a lot of my queries about various things on the test forum could have been answered through help pages.

Thank you, Hyper! We're glad you made the switch Robert wrote: I can't help wondering that if Jim is successful with my phpbb conversion and word gets round then he might be inundated with applications for the software, will he be able to keep up this standard of service? I certainly hope so because to my mind he is an integral part of the wowultra package. Perhaps the phpbb conversion is a pandora's box and the lid should be kept on. With Jim sitting 2 feet to the right of me at nights, Im learning quite a bit of things from him so that when Ultra starts to get busier, Ill be able to help take the load off of him so he can spend more time in development If not, Jim will simply have to invent a cloning machine so we can clone him The answer is in this forum. In the private support email that we send to new customers, we invite them to join this forum and to feel free to ask questions here.

Robert wrote: I'm hoping that the Admin Panel will always give me the control I want and that I don't have to venture into the mysteries of the cpanel. CPanel isn't too difficult Robert. There are a lot of things you can do in CPanel that are not available in Admin Panel. Once you venture into CPanel it becomes qute easy.

I love Jim and Di - and although clones of them would be fantastic LOL - some of the members that I have met here are by far some of the most knowledgeable people and are a great source of information

Maybe we should ask to see pictures of Jim and Di before we start bring clones of them home. I know for sure I wouldn't like to see any clones of myself wandering around in daylight...
