3 questions:
  • A real plus for me would be to be able to size the edit window when creating posts. SMF and DNN can do this. Some of my users, tend to write long posts.
Is this possible? Is there a setting to adjust the window size?
  • Also, is it possible to have a code view (HTML and/or bbcode)?
  • Finally, to make post more compact, I'd like to be able to hide the Joined, Location, Posts, Status, Mana. Is this possible?
Thanks

1. Adjusting the window size if you really want to of course can be done in the templates, however this would be considered a "mod" and it would be overwritten on subsequent upgrades.

2. You mean this?
<a href="foo/bar.zip">File</a>

3. Again a template subtraction but easy. Same applies as #1

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply.
  1. OK, if it can be added as a UI element, it would be great. SMF adds + and - buttons which through DHTML, change the size of the edit window. Also, the edit window makes up 90% of the avail. width, not a fixed width as here
  2. Yes, this is what I would like to be able to optionally view
  3. Same as 1

Hi again,

Basically ANYTHING can be done. Frankly out of the many hundreds of requests for "additions" this is the first I have heard of this and though I like pleasing people I don't have any plans of adding this feature soon.

I believe the "super wide monitor" revolution is causing somewhat of an upset with a lot of sites that were designed even a year ago. There are over 20 computers where I work during the day that are still on 15" monitors and 800 X 600!

Not this upgrade but probably the next I am re writing the text editors. At that point I will review all text editor related requests and the ones that can be addressed will. I'll put it on the list but can't promise anything.

Blur, glow and shadow have been requested also. I had to go in to IE7 today to even see what they are because I have never used it.
