Well, I was looking at the website yesterday and decided that this forum service and support beats the heck outta vBulletin's and IPB's support.

At least the 2 owners here don't make people "pay" for support. Like they do over on vB's and IPB's site.

This is exactly the type of community that vB and IPB lacks. All they want is the money.

And at least only for 100 dollars you get free support, free upgrades and realeases and more. And you have a forever license. I started deciding to use this forum software since yesterday. I run on vBulletin 3.7.2 now. But as what was stated is that there's no converters from forum software to WowULTRA.
All I'd care for to transfer from vB to WowULTRA is the users and posts.

I do back up the database for VB every night. So it shouldn't be a problem.

But anyway, since this service is so great, I'm trying to do a fundrasiing thing/donate thing on my vB forum.

The donation button is at the bottom of my forum here: http://kawaiianime.co.cc/vb/

Anyone here can help, so far my forum's been dead and inactive.

Anyway, I wouldn't need to change hosts. Unless of course converting vB 3.7 to WowULTRA needs to happen and can only be done on Data 1, I wouldn't mind transferring over there.

I am in the process of possibly changing my forum hosting to Data 1 and using wowultra software and if my experience is anything to go by then anything the people here can do, they will, quickly too. Excellent service and communication. Can't be faulted and also quite an exciting future for forum owners.

I might get the software, but I didn't know the site only accepted Paypal.

I'd prefer this software over vB and IPB anyday, support wise.

The thing is though, is that their support forums were actually busy, and I'm not sure what Time Zone the 2 go by.

Even this one could be about that busy, but I know support is limited and that they have people who work at the hosting company probably 24/7.

Hi Sakura,

Glad to see you here, thank you for checking out WowUltra!

Unfortunately we don't have any immediate plans to do a Vbull converter. I appreciate the kind words about our support and would love to accommodate you as a customer, however it is something that at this stage in our development would not be used enough to warrant designing it.

It's not really a money thing, we are putting a lot of time in to the phpBB converter but feel it will be used often after it is available.

Sorry for the bad news, if there is anything we can do for you otherwise feel free to ask.

It will not be necessary to use Data 1 hosting for conversions, it just makes it easier since we have 100% control over the Data 1 servers. Plus you get the same service as you do with the Ultra software :)

Jim

P.S. We are based in Columbus Ohio, USA and are on Eastern Standard time.

also, you can typically easily sell a vbulletin license. I might even know someone who would buy it from you if you are interested.

@Jim I've been to Ohio, nice state compared to Illinois.

@TVDinner Actually, I'd like to start new.  I actually will sell my vB license to someone for 100 bucks via Paypal only.

Just tell them that it has to be through Paypal Also, I have a private account, not a verified one through Paypal. I don't use Paypal as often but might now.

Have that person get in contact with me and I will sell it for 100 bucks.

I can even do small little services that people don't have enough time for, even it be installing something that's not in cPanel's Fantasico.

I installed MyBB, phpBB3, and all forum scripts fine.

Alright.

I'll be sure to check.

Also, a question about WowULTRa.

When bought, does it come with a readme.txt file? So I know what files/folders would need chmodded?

When you are sent details for the private support log in, there are instructions on the download page along with the files if you want to install it yourself.

We will be delighted to install it for you if you like.

I might have you install it. But I'm seriously considering moving to Data 1 Hosting.

Because the host I use their Apache's down sometimes.

Also, am going to buy a domain name to use, for the website, because I'd rather use Data 1 Host, but use my other host for other small things.

Unless there;'s some sorta plan that includes a domain name.

I use GoDaddy to buy domains, hopefully using them wouldn't be an issue over here.

Also, I'm curious on something..

Are you 2 employed somehow through Data 1 Hosting or something?

And you just mod the forums and answer support questions?

Being of legal age of employment of course.

Hi Sakura and welcome. If you do make the switch to Ultra and the D1 servers you won't be dissapointed. The support here is really super. I moved here start of June and have no regrets. Well one maybe, the fact that I didn't move sooner...

You get a free domain when you purchase a hosting plan from us :)

We also use GoDaddy as our registrar

Data1Systems is owned by Jim and I :)

I was just wondering with the title you had.

:
Customer Service Rep. "

And also, I'm going to get a hosting plan.

Just when I get Ultra bought, that's when I'm moving Ultra over to Data 1.

And you guys said you can install it for free.

Yeah, still gotta see if this person is interested in buying my vBull license.

If they are and they want it, and when I get the 100 bucks, I'll buy it via Paypal.

I know a couple other forums that have a services forum that help you make money by offering services or selling a license for vBulletin.

Hopefully Ultra uses less space than vBulletin and IPB did on me.

I also think that I might use Data 1 servers.

If the hosting accepts Paypal, or if you just get an Ultra license and then you have an option of web hosting through Data 1's website.

I haven't looked at the website yet, don't you think it'd be fair to just make the money off of Ultra, not web hosting?

As the site owners stated, "It's not really a money thing,"

I think the hosting should be free for like a year, if you purchase a WowUltra license, something along those lines would make sense.

But after that year, that person would need to pay for the next year.
