Not me Jim. I'm far too nervous to touch anything for awhile. I have had a quick look and the cpanel layout is a lot different to the one I have been used to and that scared me silly. Later on I will have a go, maybe.

A bridge file is what coppermine calls it's integration file which will let your gallery use the user database from your board.

I have taken a look at the bridge files and feel it would be easy to create one for Ultra. It is on my list now but on the bottom :)

I have played with integration for Ultra and there are many apps that can share a user database. If Ultra ends up gaining steam enough so I can do it full time then you will see some serious stuff happening.

I have a bridge for user base done, just testing permissions and what not.

You're more than happy to use it or offer it here once I test and confirm.

As long as it isn't a modification to the Ultra code it isn't considered a mod and is fine.

I looked at the bridge file system and there is no reason why one can't be made to work with Ultra.

Yeah, no bridges should need to alter the code. If anything, it can be placed into the integration php file if the current software doesn't have an option.

Coppermine won't need it. It just needs users and a couple groups from the ultra database.

Nope not yet. I really won't get to take a look at it till almost October at this point, sorry.

What I plan on doing before I integrate Coppermine is look at all the available free packages, see how SAFE they are, and make a decision on if I should even integrate. Photopost already integrates but costs a bundle.

If sales go up I might work on a gallery module but I have to complete the portal first. I would simply love to do this full time!

Coppermine is a good package. It does just about everything PP does and for free. The lack of a bridge isn't a big issue as people can just login seperately to the forum and the way Coppermine can be customized makes up for that, considering it's free.
I would have used Coppermine myself instead of Photopost, but I couldn't get it to work and gave up and bought Photopost.

Come to think of it, I couldn't get Photopost to work either and had to pay the extra $60 for installation and another $60 for the upgrade to be installed a few months later, so it turned out to be an expensive package.

Go to your C-panel. Click on the "add on scripts" icon. Click on coppermine. Follow the directions.

You are about 2 minutes away from having it installed at any time during the day.

Just don't ask me how to use it.... I have no idea!

Like you said Jim, easy. Too easy in fact as I flashed past the page telling me where it was on the forum. I know it has to have pictures uploaded into it but how would members access it.

Other than providing an area where members can post photos, it does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but is simple to use. For me it needs a few more features.

If your looking for a program to upload and post photos from an event, I find that Jalbum is worth taking a look at.

http://jalbum.net/

A free program.

I've tried out a number over the last six or seven years and this is the one I settled on.

I posted maybe 3000 photos this year and not one problem.

I have downloaded that and done a test album which it uploaded to my database ok. I think it's quite good, simple but secure. Thanks for the information.

Pity I didn't think to ask you about this in the old days Jim. ;)
