Do you own one? what all does it do? email? post?

im pretty sure you cant transfer files but the way technology is evolving, that may be possible!

We were thinking of getting one, mainly for Jim since hes the one away from home a lot.

We have just never been into fancy cellphones and stuff like that so we really dont know whats out there :twich:

I live on my Blackberry. I have been a Blackberry user from when RIM released their first model. I have switched phone companies and had many many phones, but always Blackberries regardless of the phone company I am with.
Currently I am with AT&T and have the Blackberry Curve, WHICH I LOVE.

Check out http://www.blackberrycurve.com/
On top of having all the fun stuff like a 2 megapixel camera, ability to play games, get rocket fast emails, voice recognition calling, full gps program, etc. It has all the business solutions I need. I can view attachments, do all my bookkeeping, appointments, phone book, sinc with my desktop easily, etc etc. ALSO I can view, read AND reply to forum posts on message boards. Has bluetooth, which is a must with my wireless headset so I have both hands free, etc.

Like I said, I have had about every Blackberry phone that has been available and the Curve is the best yet, by a mile, in my opinion.

the cell phones we have now are currently thru Sprint.

We dont need all the extra features like camera, playing games, etc. plus we need something that is durable (Jim tends to be a bit tough on his phone since he works in a machine shop during the day)

theres more than one kind of blackberry? LOL! i am so not up to date on these kind of things

you get those features anyway - they are just standard now. and I forgot to add that my blackberry has a 2 gig card on it also so I can store all my images for work, music. this is great and now i never take my ipod anywhere since all my music i need is on my phone. one less gadget to carry. the curve also has a regular headphone jack for better sound.

sprint has the same blackberry model (the curve) available now I believe. It is the best one. you will get a belt case for protection. check out the curve.

A few members on my forum use Blackberries for posting. The only gripe they have is that they can't disable the emoticons from loading and they take a bit of time to load. Maybe in the future it might be possible for forum members on Blackberries or slowband to disable emoticons and avatars, perhaps in their profile settings?

we are currently working on getting the emoticons to open up in its own window so the text editor doesnt have to wait for the emoticons to load.

I do like some of the suggestions you offered tho. they may find its way in future versions ;)

I think it might also be beneficial to have an entire THEME that has no graphics at all. On my old wowbblounge we had a "lofi" theme that suellen had come up with that was great on blackberry phones and portable units. That would solve the issue completely.
